To ensure uninterrupted email access, it was critical that you updated your email program or app to the correct username and server settings. If your email application (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.) is configured with the retired mail.q.com server settings, access will be discontinued since the transition has been completed.
.
Note: If your settings already reflect the correct CenturyLink settings (see below), then all that is required is updating to your new Myctl.net username.
This is required and users who have not updated their settings will only be able to access their email via webmail at www.centurylink.net.
To prevent any disruption to your email, please follow the steps below to update your settings immediately:
New Server Settings to Enter:
Username: example@myctl.net
For Incoming Mail (POP):
- Server: pop.centurylink.net
- Port: 995
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
For Incoming Mail (IMAP):
- Server: mail.centurylink.net
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
For Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
- Server: smtp.centurylink.net
- Port: 587
- Encryption: TLS (or 465 with SSL)
- Authentication: Requires authentication (typically "use same settings as incoming server")
We understand that changing server settings is a technical task, but it is necessary to ensure the continued security and reliability of your email. The process is similar for most email programs, and you can often find the settings under "Account Settings," "Server Settings," or "Advanced Settings" in your email application's preferences or options menu.
Please make this change as soon as possible to avoid losing access to your email on your device.
