If we detect unusual sign-in activity, you may be asked to complete a few extra verification steps before you can access your account. This helps protect your account from unauthorized access. This guide shows what to expect and how to complete the process.
Before you begin: If you already use a stronger sign-in method such as two-factor authentication (2FA), you may not see this experience. If you do not have access to your recovery methods, you may need to contact support.
What to Expect During Verification
Step 1: Start signing in as usual. Enter your username and password normally. If extra verification is needed, you will see a message letting you know that more steps are required.
Step 2: Review the security prompt. If your sign-in is flagged as unusual, you will be asked to complete additional verification. This does not mean there is a problem with your account. It is a security step designed to help protect you.
Step 3: Verify your identity. Follow the prompts on screen to confirm that you are the account owner.
Step 4: Choose a recovery option. You will prompted to select a recovery method, such as your recovery email address or mobile phone number that are already set up on your account.
Step 5: Complete the requested verification step. If you have access to the recovery method shown, follow the instructions to continue.
Step 6: Continue through each screen. Complete each prompt until the verification process is complete.
Step 7: Confirm account ownership. In the final verification step, use the recovery option requested on screen. If the information matches, you can continue signing in.
Step 8: Review the result. If verification is successful, you will be able to continue into your account.
Step 9: Contact support if you cannot complete verification. If you do not have access to your recovery methods, or no recovery options are available, you will need help from support before you can sign in.
