1. Is this change optional?
This change is required by all Q.com users, it is NOT optional. The Q.com domain name is being retired and when this transition is complete, failure to make the change will result in your email no longer functioning.
2. Will I lose any emails or messages during this change? No, your current emails and messages will remain safe and intact. There will be no loss of any email data.
3. What is changing with my email address?
Your email address will change from username@q.com to username@myctl.net. The username portion of your email will not change and cannot be changed to ensure continuity. AVOID INTERUPTION AND CHANGE TO YOUR NEW @MYCTL.NET EMAIL ADDRESS NOW!
4. Do I need to do anything to update my email settings?
No, you do not need to make any changes to your server or email client settings. Your email will continue to work seamlessly without any changes on your part.
5. When will this change happen?
The transition will begin on October 21, 2025.. You can continue to use your @q.com email as usual until then. After the change, you will use your new @myctl.net email address.
6. Where will I sign in to my new email address?
You can continue to use the email client you are using today. If you prefer to use webmail, you can sign in at www.CenturyLink.net using the new @myctl.net address and your current password.
7. Will I need to remember a new email password?
No, your password will remain the same unless otherwise notified.
8. What happens if I use the q.com email address after the change?
Once your email address has been switched to myctl.net and the q.com email domain is retired, your q.com address will no longer send or receive messages. [Your q.com address will continue to forward any messages to your new myctl.net address until Dec 31, 2025.
9. If I want to use an email server like Outlook or Mac Mail, what do I do?
You can set up your email to work with other email programs and on multiple devices using the following settings:
Username: example@myctl.net
POP3 Server: pop.centurylink.net
POP3 Port: 995 (SSL/TLS)
IMAP4 Server: mail.centurylink.net
IMAP4 Port: 993 (SSL/TLS)
SMTP Server: smtp.centurylink.net
SMTP Port: 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL)
10. What should I do if I experience issues with my email after the change?

11. Why is my email address changing?
The change is part of our efforts to improve our services and provide you with a more reliable and professional email experience in addition to the q.com no longer being available. We wanted to provide a solution to ensure customers were able to keep the contents of their emails they have used for many years.
